We took a week off in August and headed out of state with my family. The journey began as a semi carpool to Salt Lake (we lost to Snows in St. George), then to Jackson Hole, back to SLC and then home. We had a week full of so much fun and adventure, family and laughter and the most amazing condo EVER! Mom, once again, had every detail planned to a T and it all went so well. The boys left us girls in SLC on Sunday to begin their canoeing trip down the Snake River, so us girlies had ourselves a good time shopping, seeing movies, getting mani/pedis and hanging out with the fam. in SLC.
At our cousin/sister Amy's house with all this kiddos.
I got to see my Holly that I miss so much and eat lunch with her at Paradise...sooo good!
Some stops on our way.
Cannon LOVED this DVD player...couldn't even get him to make eye contact here, was a great tool for a long car ride!
Wednesday morning we left for Jackson to meet up with the boys and check into our digs. The boys were exhausted, but had enough in them to make it to the Jackson Hole Rodeo that night. What a riot. Cannon and Roman got to chase baby cows around the rink attempting to withstand the older kids trampling them. Definitely the highlight of the evening.
The girls went on our own river rafting trip the next morning and took control of that river! ha. Good thing we had a guide...not sure we would have made it otherwise, but serious fun times having Steph aboard with all her worry. She said "If grandpa did this, then I can do this too!" And she did! Afterwards we headed down the alpine slides...Michael's first time and he loved it.
We went to the Chuck Wagon Ranch and saw the Bar-J-Wranglers that night. This is a Slagle family tradition that, to me, really encompasses the COUNTRY experience. They serve 'grub' and have cow hides and bull horns on the walls and have live music that they really played "on the range".
And of course we made it to Yellowstone. We watched Old Faithful do her thang....and saw lots of other hot pots and water sights.
Can you believe how high Griff got Roman? I was certain his little body was going to be flung into those trees.
What a beautiful part of the country this area is. The entire time we were there I was in awe. Thanks Mom and Dad for such a wonderful trip!
*you must ask the boys about their wild river trip and specifically about Michael's almost decapitation of Tucker.
**We missed you Coley...would have been so much more fun with you there.
