Bass Lake + Yosemite

Once again, Mom planned a magnificent family trip. This year, she and Dad rented a cabin at Bass Lake, right outside of Yosemite. We were lucky enough to have Colleen join us for part of the week too. Mom is the best planner. She has a million different options for activities to fill the week, but is gracious enough to let everyone else choose what we do. We spent the week in a beautiful home, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boating, hiking, fishing, inner tubing, game playing, beach lounging and eating a ton of yummy food. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for planning another amazing family vacation. There are truly no better times than when we are all together as a family. (Photo overload about to happen!)

A Big Move

On rather quick notice, Michael, Lola and I relocated to Alexandria,Virginia to accept a new job. Because of the difficult economic situation, particularly in Los Angeles, I applied to nursing jobs all across the country. I was fortunate to hear from one company in Virginia, interviewed with them and accepted a position with Inova Health Systems. Though the process was very fast, we both feel like this is a great opportunity and will give me the experience that I need to be able to have more flexibility in the nursing field.
We have already felt the empty spaces in our hearts from leaving our wonderful families and closest friends. This is absolutely the hardest part of leaving sunny southern California. We do look forward to making memories here and making the best of our time while we are here. The BEST news of all, is that the Snows are here, literally around the corner. This has already been blessings upon blessings for us.
Hopefully I will be updating the blog more regularly to keep anyone who is interested up on our happenings wayyy over here. Lastly, please come visit! Everyone is always welcome!

Yosemite, Part III

Michael and I made it up to Yosemite for Memorial Day weekend for a little pre-birthday celebration. We love the accessibility and beauty that Yosemite offers. This trip was especially fun because we stayed in the park at Curry Village in their canvas tents. When we arrived it as lightly snowing, so the first day we spend in the lodge making friends and staying warm. The storm cleared up and the rest of the trip was perfect!

Hiking in Tar Creek

A couple of years back, my dad took Michael and I on a hike up in the mountains of Fillmore. We LOVED this hike, especially since we were just feet away from the California Condors- which were totally creepy-crazy-amazing all at the same time. So we decided to go again and invite some friends. Unfortunately there were no condor sitings this time.
